Psalms, 86

1. For the sons of Core, a psalm of a canticle. The foundations thereof are in the holy mountains:

2. The Lord loveth the gates of Sion above all the tabernacles of Jacob.

3. Glorious things are said of thee, O city of God.

4. I will be mindful of Rahab and of Babylon knowing me. Behold the foreigners, and Tyre, and the people of the Ethiopians, these were there.

5. Shall not Sion say: This man and that man is born in her? and the Highest himself hath founded her.

6. The Lord shall tell in his writings of peoples and of princes, of them that have been in her.

7. The dwelling in thee is as it were of all rejoicing.

Verses related to Psalms, 86:

Psalm 86 is a prayer of David asking God to meet his supplications and mercifully help him. He cries to God as a faithful servant, expressing his trust in God and his faith in divine goodness and compassion. The verses selected below are related to the psalm themes:

2 Samuel 22:31: "As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is proved; it is a shield for all who trust in Him." This verse emphasizes the perfection and confidence that can be taken in the word and divine protection, something that David also highlights in his Psalm 86.

Philippians 4:6-7: "You are not restless for anything; before, your petitions are all known before God, prayer and supplications, with thanksgiving. And the peace of God, which exceeds all understanding,, will keep your hearts and your feelings in Christ Jesus. " This verse highlights the importance of prayer and trust in God, remembering David's prayer in Psalm 86 and reinforcing the idea that God listens and responds to the prayers of his faithful servants.
